This story starts around a campfire. On a small agricultural research farm in southern Ontario some old friends are camping next to a pond. Sitting on the first log is the hero of this story Jimmy. Although hero in this context is more accurately interpreted as ‘primary focus’. He sits in silent concern over the manner in which the girl next to him pokes the fire. Her name is Lynn and she is perhaps a bit too fascinated with the fire for it to be considered healthy… or safe. Sitting on the next log is Derek with his wife Vicky.
